What makes a good tuition centre?

All parents find it difficult to know which tuition centre to choose. Here are the 5 Golden Rules for choosing a good tuition centre:

1. Aesthetically inviting classroom environment. When a tuition centre possesses visually pleasing surroundings, it creates positive impressions for your child. Having to study extra hours outside of school can be a chore for most children so clean, bright and well-maintained classrooms can significantly take away feelings of apprehension and dread when it comes to learning.

2. Comprehensive content and engaging way of teaching. It is always a good choice to go for a tuition centre who employs tutors that know their craft. A good coach demonstrates a deep understanding of your child’s weak subjects by pitching at standards that are relatable to their students’ level of understanding.

3. Open school-home connection. One of the main purposes of enrolling your child in a tuition centre is to keep your son or daughter abreast with their school’s curriculum. Naturally, parents should be kept up-to-date of their child’s learning progress, as well as their homework, and other curriculum-related matters.

4. Healthy socio-emotional learning environment. A tuition centre that employs tutors who have empathy and compassion towards students is a great indication that the faculty is well-run. Tutors must be more patient and encouraging for them to fully unleash their student’s potential.

5. Detailed monitoring of tutees’ progress. Good tuition centres require teachers and coaches to give regular formative assessments of their students, as well as constructive feedback.

What the Learning Hub offers:

1. We’ve invested in our classrooms ensuring they provide an optimal atmosphere for learning.

2. We keep class sizes small, ensuring we give your child the individual attention and support they deserve in order to help them excel academically.

Easter Workshops: Boost your child’s potential!

With children facing so many challenges at school, tuition can be that beneficial step to help them cope with unfamiliar workloads or complicated new information. The advantages of private tuition are so well known that most parents now use private tuition.  Learning Hub teachers show students new approaches and methods, as well as how to ’embrace’ any new tasks with which they are faced. Our teachers are able to provide guidance in time management, with which children can better organise their increasingly pressured life.

Our Easter workshops take place over two weeks allowing your child to build up momentum when faced with new or difficult concepts. They will learn effectively over time, practising our tips to success so that by week 2 they become almost second nature. They will benefit from the attention of the teacher as well as becoming motivated by their success throughout the course. For more information call our administration staff on 0208 908 0123.

11plus (11+) Grammar School Review in Kent then London??

It is reported that Kent County Council is going to review its 11-plus tests as its figures showed that 10% of offers at grammar schools went to pupils from private schools when fewer than 6% children in Kent are educated in private schools.

One has to ask, ‘What is going on?’ Parents are badgered by the media, politicians and papers everyday that they must do more for their children. Here we have a situation where parents are doing their level best by sending their child for 11plus tuition and then penalised by a Local Borough for exactly doing that and, in all this ‘hurrah’. No one seems to understand that Kent and it’s surrounding Boroughs are all in England and that their is one national education system. Why do politicians want to start segregating when its suitable to gain votes? Why can’t we all work for one common cause that will be benefit this country and it’s people.

In this case, we are looking at young innocent children whose parents happen to work hard, sacrifice their spare time to pay for the tuition fees and then once again only to find their child is to be held back .It is universally appreciated that children have a right to good quality education; it should not matter where they live only that they are capable of benefiting from it.

At The Learning Hub we have an excellent track record in helping children from the age of 6 to 16. We cover everything from KeyStage 1, KeyStage 2, Keystage 3, KeyStage 4 and GCSEs. As a tuition centre of Excellence specialising in 11plus tuition in Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning and Non Verbal Reasoning and have helped hundred of children to achieve their goal of gaining a place in a grammar school or an independent school.

Our advise is always the same to all the parents, don’t get distracted by the politicians, media, etc. Your child only has one life , let them live this to the full by giving them a good head start in their education by giving them good tuition. Check our website and let us help your child. Contact us on 020 8908 0123, now.

Ofsted & SATs – Tuition – London – Why?

Last night on Newsnight,  the chief inspector of schools and head of Ofsted, Sir Michael Wilshaw, condemned the fact that one in five pupils are leaving primary school without reaching the “national average” in English. This comment led to him been accused in the media of been out of touch on figures.

In all this, the media and the Ofsted chief seem to forget that children’s lives and eventually careers are at stake. It is important that everyone appreciates at grass root level that if a child is taught properly then that child has a better chance to lead a good life. Everytime we fail, it means that we have failed a  child and in this case, we have failed many children who instead of growing and thanking society; may now end up joining a group feeling negative as they feel that they have no future.

Education is not a game and should not be treated as a game, it is children’s lives we are dealing with. Children who do not have any hindsight experience like we do and in all intent and purpose trust us in doing the right thing for them. It is therefore our responsibility to ensure that every child is successful in their education. It is a duty of every teacher and person involved in education to ensure that they actively work towards that goal.

At The Learning Hub we do what we preach and set high standards on ourselves and through hard work, dedication and good planning help children take a positive step towards their education goal. Our SATs results are like our 11plus results which are like our GCSE results, majority achieving SATs level 5 or many children gaining places in great schools like Henrietta Barnet Girls School, Queen Elizabeths Boys School, Merchant Taylors’ Boys School, Dr Challoners Grammar school to name a few or 100% track record in our GCSE exams.

If you are concerned about your child’s education then ring us on 020 8908 0123 to find out why we have people come from different countries to experience our teaching or at least checkout our blog on ‘Only 11plus Centre in London using NLP’ to gain a diiferent perspective on education and achievement.
