Our journey began in 2003 when we recognised a pressing need for effective tuition. It became evident that weaker children required more support, while the stronger ones were not being adequately challenged. This realisation was reinforced by our personal experience while seeking tutors for our three children. We heard from other parents that during one-on-one sessions at the tutor’s house, tutors were often engaged in activities like cooking, talking on the phone, or simply going through books with the children, without effective teaching taking place.
As a qualified teacher, it became apparent that both children and parents were being let down. Recognising an urgent need for a quality tuition centre that caters to the community’s needs, we founded The Learning Hub.
To ensure the delivery of “Quality” at our centre, we set high standards by becoming OFSTED registered and establishing ourselves as an examination centre for all major GCSE and A-Level exams. Additionally, we made sure that all classrooms were purpose-built, and our teaching philosophy was rooted in fostering a deep “understanding.”
Presently, we boast six dedicated classrooms, including an IT suite, catering to children aged 6 to 16 years old. Over the years, we have
evolved into a major specialist for 11 plus tuition, serving both grammar and independent schools. For the 11 plus, we are proud to have successfully taught over 2,500 children, with approximately 350 securing scholarships. Some of the schools our students have gained placements at include Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Upton Court, North London Collegiate, and Henrietta Barnett.
Expanding our offerings, we now provide special booster classes in 11 plus subjects such as Comprehension, Creative Writing, Grammar and Punctuation, Maths, and Reasoning. Additionally, alongside our regular classes, we conduct workshops during Easter, Summer, and Christmas, covering all subjects and levels.
